Plan Your Visit

Accessibility

We want as many people as possible to be able to engage with Maltese-Canadian history, heritage, and culture.

Visiting the Museum

Let us know how we can support your visit.

The Maltese-Canadian Museum is committed to making visits as welcoming and accessible as we reasonably can.

Because every visitor's needs are different, we encourage anyone with mobility, sensory, communication, or other accessibility requirements to contact us before visiting.

We are happy to discuss your needs in advance and work with you to identify appropriate accommodations wherever possible.

Building Access

Accessing the Museum.

01

Building Entrance

A ramp is available to provide step-free access into the building.

02

Museum Level

The Maltese-Canadian Museum is located in the upper hall of the St. Paul the Apostle Church complex.

A stairlift is available to assist visitors who cannot use the stairs.

03

Stairlift Limitation

The stairlift is designed to carry a seated passenger and cannot transport a wheelchair to the upper hall.

Visitors who use wheelchairs should contact the Museum before their visit so that we can discuss their needs and any accommodations that may be possible.

Exhibitions & Interpretation

Accessibility is part of how we are rebuilding the Museum.

The Maltese-Canadian Museum is actively developing new permanent exhibitions, digital resources, historical interpretation, and public programming.

As this work continues, we are looking for ways to make Museum content easier for more people to engage with, whether they visit us in person or explore Maltese-Canadian heritage online.

This includes considering the clarity and readability of exhibition text, digital access to collections and historical resources, alternative ways of engaging with Museum content, and the different needs of visitors.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. If there is something that would make our exhibitions, website, programmes, or visitor experience easier for you to use, we welcome your feedback.
